More Designing Thoughts.
In making preparation choices for your new website, I have included some examples of dynamic elements which you may want to include in your project.
Google Calendar Integration
Google calendar integration is an excellent way to share your events and schedule with the public, or with a number of private individuals who will view your website. The beauty of this feature is, that you have complete access and control over your own scheduling without the need for any knowledge of website design or programming.
Simply log into your Google email/calendar account and make your own events and scheduling changes. These changes will dynamically be updated and displayed on your website without ever having to contact us to make periodic event changes.
Integrate your own blog.
Do you like to keep a diary of events in your life that is viewable by other people? Or, maybe you would like to keep your viewers abreast of the latest news that you would like to include on your website.
There are several blog oriented software scripts available to suit your needs, and many of them have several choices of "skins" to personalize the appearance. These blog scripts can be set up as a standalone section of your website with a link added to your site navigation. Or, they can be code embedded into a single page within your website, as to maintain the look and feel of your site's layout.
What about a photo gallery?
There are as many options on photo display as can be conceived. You can use an imbedded dynamic command, a standalone script powered by a database, or make a static HTML page with thumbnail links. In any case the possibilities are endless.
The choices you make will be dictated by how much media you need to display, or if it is something that changes often, and if you want to have access to a back end user interface to make those changes on your own.
Here is an example of a database driven photo gallery called Zenphoto which can also be used as a photo blog:
